Where it came from
Consider was originally released in the Innistrad: Midnight Hunt set in 2021, and this specific printing appears as part of the Murders at Karlov Manor Commander decks. It serves as a staple blue instant that allows players to surveil one before drawing a card, reflecting the 'detective' and 'investigation' mechanics central to the Ravnica-themed expansion.
The card features artwork by Wisnu Tan, who emphasizes the ephemeral and analytical nature of the spell. By depicting a mage peering into a magical projection, the design leans into the flavor of gathering information before making a move, which became a highly regarded inclusion for blue-based control and graveyard-focused strategies in the Commander format.
