Where it came from
Consider was originally released in the 2021 set Modern Horizons 2, designed to provide players with an efficient deck-filtering tool that mirrors the utility of the classic card Opt while enabling graveyard-based strategies. The card’s function, which allows a player to look at the top card of their library and decide whether to draw it or place it into the graveyard, quickly solidified its status as a staple across multiple competitive Magic: The Gathering formats.
The version found in Mystery Booster 2 is a direct reprint of this established design. As part of a set curated to provide a unique draft experience by pulling from various eras and experimental styles, the inclusion of Consider serves to provide necessary mechanical consistency. The card features artwork by Johannes Voss, who utilized his signature ethereal and atmospheric style to illustrate the concept of divination and the careful weighing of choices inherent in the card’s namesake.
