Where it came from
Opposition was originally printed in the 2000 Odyssey expansion for Magic: The Gathering. Designed as a blue enchantment, it represents a core control mechanic that allows players to tap their own creatures to tap down an opponent's permanents. This ability, often referred to as 'tapping down,' became a signature element of tempo-based decks during the era, emphasizing board state manipulation over brute force.
The version from Dominaria Remastered, numbered 290, features new artwork by artist Simon Dominic. This release was part of a curated set designed to celebrate the history of the Dominaria plane by highlighting iconic and mechanically significant cards from various eras. The design retains the card's original functionality while updating its aesthetic to align with the visual standards of modern card frames.
