Orzhov Basilica

Orzhov Basilica was first introduced in the Guildpact expansion as part of a cycle of bouncelands representing the ten guilds of Ravnica. The card depicts the seat of the Orzhov Syndicate, a cathedral-like structure that serves as both a bank and a place of worship, reflecting the guild's blend of ecclesiastical power and predatory capitalism. It was designed to provide players with a source of two colors of mana while maintaining a mechanical theme of returning a land to one's hand to balance its efficiency.

The version from Dominaria United Commander features updated art by Johannes Voss, who rendered the Basilica with the somber, gothic aesthetic characteristic of the Orzhov. In this later printing, the card retains its original function but carries the specific visual identity of the Dominaria United release. It was well-received by players for its utility in Commander decks, where its ability to generate two mana and provide a land-drop trigger on subsequent turns remains a staple for mana fixing.
