Provenance

Where it came from

Treasure Cruise was first released in the 2014 set Khans of Tarkir, designed as a powerful card-advantage engine that allowed players to draw three cards for a low mana cost by utilizing the delve mechanic. The card quickly became a defining force in multiple formats, prompting its inclusion in the 2018 Ultimate Masters set, which curated iconic and high-impact cards from the game's history to celebrate the breadth of the Magic: The Gathering library.

The art for this specific version, illustrated by Dan Dos Santos, captures the adventurous and ephemeral nature of the card's theme. The design features a sweeping, cinematic perspective that emphasizes the discovery of ancient relics, aligning with the card's function of digging through one's graveyard to unearth resources. Upon its release, the card was widely recognized for its aggressive efficiency, and it remains a staple reference point for balance discussions regarding graveyard-based resource management.
