Where it came from
Treasure Cruise was first released in the 2014 Khans of Tarkir expansion, quickly gaining notoriety for its raw efficiency. By allowing players to draw three cards for as little as a single blue mana through its delve mechanic, it became a powerful staple across multiple formats, eventually requiring restrictions or bans in various tournament settings. The card represents the high-risk, high-reward design philosophy of the delve ability, which rewards players for filling their graveyard throughout the game.
The New Capenna Commander printing, collector number 237, features thematic art that integrates the card into the art deco, prohibition-era aesthetic of the plane of New Capenna. While the mechanical function remains identical to the original, this version serves as a stylistic variant designed for players who wish to align their deck's visual identity with the urban, syndicate-themed motifs of the New Capenna setting.
