Treasure Cruise

Treasure Cruise was introduced in the 2014 Magic: The Gathering expansion Khans of Tarkir. It was designed as a powerful common-rarity spell that leveraged the game's graveyard mechanic, delve, which allows players to exile cards from their graveyard to reduce a spell's mana cost. This design was intended to provide a potent card-advantage engine, reflecting the set's thematic focus on the shifting timelines and scavenged history of the plane of Tarkir.

The card's artwork was illustrated by Kev Walker, who opted for a dynamic composition depicting a vast, ancient hoard being unearthed. Upon its release, the card quickly defied typical common-rarity expectations; its efficiency in allowing players to draw three cards for as little as a single blue mana led to its dominance in competitive formats. It was eventually restricted or banned in multiple high-level tournament environments, cementing its reputation as one of the most impactful utility cards from the modern era of the game.
