The Complete Poetical Works of Samuel Taylor Coleridge: Including Poems and Versions of Poems Now Published for the First Time

Published in 1912 and edited by Ernest Hartley Coleridge, this definitive collection aimed to provide the most comprehensive scholarly record of the poet's work available at the time. It was released by Oxford University Press as part of their acclaimed series of complete poetical works, serving as a critical resource for literary researchers seeking to reconcile the many variants of Coleridge's verses published throughout the nineteenth century.

The editorial effort focused on meticulous archival research, incorporating previously unpublished drafts and early versions of poems to illustrate the evolution of Coleridge's creative process. Ernest Hartley Coleridge, the poet's grandson, worked extensively with original manuscripts to ensure textual accuracy, a task that earned the volume a reputation for being the gold standard of Coleridge scholarship for several decades until later critical editions succeeded it.
