Angel

The Angel token, numbered 1 in the Commander 2020 set, was produced by Wizards of the Coast for use alongside the Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths Commander decks. These tokens were created to track temporary game states, specifically the 4/4 white Angel creature with flying that many white-aligned decks of the era could generate. As with most tokens from this period, it served a functional gameplay role rather than being a collectible intended for primary deck construction.

The design of this card reflects the established aesthetic of the plane of Ikoria, emphasizing the set's focus on creatures with distinctive, often imposing biological features. While specific artist credits for token cards are often bundled under the general set release, the illustration follows the high-fantasy tradition of Magic: The Gathering, aiming to evoke a sense of celestial power that balances the aggressive and often monstrous themes present throughout the Commander 2020 release cycle.
