What it does
Flying; banding (Any creatures with banding, and up to one without, can attack in a band. Bands are blocked as a group. If any creatures with banding you control are blocking or being blocked by a creature, you divide that creature's combat damage, not its controller, among any of the creatures it's being blocked by or is blocking.)
Before a woman marries in the village of Sursi, she must visit the land of the Mesa Pegasus. Legend has it that if the woman is pure of heart and her love is true, a Mesa Pegasus will appear, blessing her family with long life and good fortune.

Where it came from
The Mesa Pegasus card originated in the Limited Edition Alpha set of Magic: The Gathering, released by Wizards of the Coast in 1993. As part of the inaugural printing of the trading card game, it was designed to introduce players to the White mana color philosophy, which emphasizes defensive stability and order. The card features artwork by Jeff A. Menges, whose illustrative style helped define the high-fantasy aesthetic that became synonymous with the game's early identity.
The design of the Mesa Pegasus reflects the strategic framework of the Limited Edition set, which sought to balance creature-based combat with magical utility. By granting the 'banding' ability—a complex and now-retired mechanic—the card encouraged players to think about formation and group coordination during play. While it was not among the set's most rare or powerful cards, it remains a recognized piece of hobby history for its role in establishing the fundamental rules and visual language of the franchise.
