What it does
Flying; banding (Any creatures with banding, and up to one without, can attack in a band. Bands are blocked as a group. If any creatures with banding you control are blocking or being blocked by a creature, you divide that creature's combat damage, not its controller, among any of the creatures it's being blocked by or is blocking.)
Before a woman marries in the village of Sursi, she must visit the land of the Mesa Pegasus. Legend has it that if the woman is pure of heart and her love is true, a Mesa Pegasus will appear, blessing her family with long life and good fortune.

Where it came from
Mesa Pegasus was released in 1994 as part of the Revised Edition of Magic: The Gathering, the third core set for the trading card game. Created by Wizards of the Coast, this set was designed to consolidate the game's initial rules and expand its reach to a broader audience following the explosive success of the Limited Edition Alpha and Beta releases. The card features a white-mana creature with the flying ability, serving as a staple utility unit that helped define the color pie’s mechanical identity during the game's formative years.
The artwork for Mesa Pegasus was illustrated by Dan Frazier, one of the original artists who helped establish the early visual language of the game. Frazier opted for a grounded, painterly approach that captured the mythical essence of the creature within a fantasy landscape. While the card is often remembered for its simplicity, it remains a nostalgic touchstone for early players, representing the transition of Magic from a niche hobby into a global tabletop phenomenon.
