Provenance

Where it came from

Released in November 2022 as part of The Brothers' War Art Series, this collectible card showcases a landscape illustration from the Magic: The Gathering expansion set. These cards were produced as part of a recurring initiative by Wizards of the Coast to highlight the individual artistic contributions within their card sets, presenting standard gameplay art in a larger, borderless format on the front while featuring a gold-stamped artist signature on the back.

The illustration depicts the sweeping, austere horizons synonymous with the Brothers' War narrative, a story arc exploring the ancient conflict between Urza and Mishra. This specific piece emphasizes the desolate, industrial beauty of the setting, reflecting the set's aesthetic goal of blending high fantasy with mechanical warfare. The design was crafted to provide collectors with a closer look at the environmental storytelling used throughout the card game's visual design process.
