Plains // Plains

The Dominaria United Art Series, released by Wizards of the Coast in 2022, was designed to celebrate the rich visual history of Magic: The Gathering by featuring high-quality, frame-free prints of cards from the core expansion. The Plains card, specifically identified as collector number 63, highlights the expansive, often nostalgic landscape art that defines the game's mana systems. These cards were distributed as promotional collectibles within set boosters rather than as standard playable game pieces.

The artwork for this particular Plains, created by illustrator Titus Lunter, focuses on the sweeping, serene vistas characteristic of Dominaria's geography. Lunter, a frequent contributor to the franchise, aimed to capture a sense of timelessness and environmental scale consistent with the plane's lore. The design was well-received by collectors for its clean, oversized presentation, which allows the intricate brushwork and atmospheric lighting of the landscape to serve as a standalone art piece.
