Spirit

The Spirit token from the Ravnica Allegiance (RNA) Guild Kit series was released in 2019 as part of Wizards of the Coast's effort to provide players with thematic, set-specific accessories for their guild-aligned decks. These kits were designed to commemorate the return to the plane of Ravnica, featuring unique art and branding for each of the ten iconic guilds. The token reflects the ethereal aesthetic common to Orzhov and Azorius-themed decks, providing a functional utility card that maintains visual continuity with the rest of the Ravnica Allegiance release.

The artistic direction for this token follows the established visual language of the Ravnica plane, emphasizing the gothic and architectural motifs associated with the city-world. While tokens in Magic: The Gathering are often collaborations between various staff illustrators and commissioned freelance artists, these specific Guild Kit tokens were crafted to serve as essential play aids. Upon their release, they were well-received by the player base for their high-quality finishes and the cohesive, immersive experience they added to guild-themed gameplay.
