Change of Heart

Change of Heart originated as a staple card in the early days of the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game, first appearing in the Japanese Starter Box in 1999 and subsequently in the global release of the Starter Deck Yugi. Designed as a Normal Spell, it was created to provide a powerful tactical advantage, allowing a player to take control of an opponent's monster for a single turn. Its design, featuring a sinister, hypnotic illustration, perfectly captured the game's high-stakes atmosphere during its initial launch period.

The 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection, which includes the RA01-EN050 printing, serves as a retrospective tribute to the game's long-standing history. This specific iteration was released to celebrate the quarter-century milestone of the franchise, featuring updated, premium foiling techniques such as Quarter Century Secret Rare. It was received by the community as a nostalgic homage, allowing veteran players to revisit iconic gameplay mechanics while introducing classic cards to a new generation of collectors through modern manufacturing standards.
