Where it came from
Change of Heart was originally released as part of the Metal Raiders booster set in the early 2000s, serving as a cornerstone of the burgeoning Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. Introduced during a period when the game was rapidly expanding internationally, the card was designed to offer players a powerful tactical advantage, allowing them to temporarily seize control of an opponent's monster to turn the tide of a duel.
The card features iconic artwork depicting a stylized, theatrical mask, a design choice that became synonymous with the game's early aesthetic. Its status as an Ultra Rare in the Metal Raiders set made it a highly sought-after prize for collectors and competitors alike, as its game-altering effect made it a staple in tournament play for many years before it was eventually restricted due to its overwhelming influence on the field.
