Beast

The Beast card originates from the Doctor Who Tokens set, a collectible series released to capitalize on the enduring popularity of the BBC science fiction television program. These tokens were produced to provide fans with a tangible way to engage with the show's extensive gallery of monsters and iconic characters, drawing inspiration from the visual aesthetics of the long-running series rather than a single specific era.

The design of the card focuses on the character known as the Beast, a powerful, ancient entity encountered by the Tenth Doctor and Rose Tyler in the episode titled The Impossible Planet. Illustrators involved in the series aimed to capture the imposing, demonic silhouette of the creature, utilizing dark, atmospheric color palettes that reflected the brooding tone of the story arc. The set was generally well-received by fans for its attention to detail and ability to encapsulate the variety of threats faced by the Doctor throughout the show's history.
