Force of Will

Force of Will was originally printed in the 1996 Alliances expansion, quickly establishing itself as a cornerstone of competitive Magic: The Gathering. Its design, characterized by the ability to be cast without mana by exiling a blue card, fundamentally altered the game's balance by providing a crucial check against explosive early-game strategies. The version from Dominaria Remastered, released in early 2023, serves as a modern aesthetic homage to this historic card, incorporating updated card frames while preserving the mechanical legacy that has made it a staple in formats like Legacy and Vintage for decades.

The artwork for this specific printing retains the iconic visual identity associated with the card's history, often drawing upon the original Terese Nielsen illustration style that defined the spell's menacing presence. Dominaria Remastered was curated to celebrate the rich history of the plane of Dominaria, and the inclusion of Force of Will was intended to provide players with a premium, visually consistent version of the card. The release was well-received by the player base for its nostalgic art direction and its effort to make high-demand reprints more accessible to those building decks for eternal formats.
