Giant Growth from the Summer Magic set, often referred to by collectors as the Edgar set, represents a rare moment in the history of Magic: The Gathering. Produced in 1994 as a replacement for the heavily flawed Revised Edition, the print run was intended to correct various card errors and color inconsistencies. However, due to severe quality control failures and a logistical disaster at the printing facility, nearly the entire run was ordered to be destroyed, with only a small portion escaping into the public market.

The art for this specific printing was carried over from the original Christopher Rush illustration, which had become iconic for its depiction of a mystical, enlarging presence. While the artwork itself remained consistent with the game's early aesthetic, the Summer Magic print is defined by its unique color saturation and corrected card borders. It is widely considered one of the most elusive and sought-after rarities in the collectible card gaming hobby, serving as a historic artifact of the game's chaotic early production years.
