Angel

The Angel token, designated as collector number 2 in the Modern Horizons Tokens set, was released by Wizards of the Coast in 2019. This token was created to support the mechanics introduced in Modern Horizons, a set specifically designed for the Modern format that focused on expanding the game's depth through supplemental cards and legacy-inspired mechanics. The token serves as a physical representation of creatures created by various spells and abilities within the set, providing players with a consistent visual marker during gameplay.

The illustration for the Angel token reflects the high-fantasy aesthetic characteristic of the Magic: The Gathering brand, emphasizing ethereal light and celestial design. The art direction for this token follows the established visual language of the game's angelic archetypes, which typically convey power, protection, and divine influence. As part of a supplemental set intended to cater to experienced players, the token is recognized for its utility in gameplay rather than its rarity, serving as a functional tool for tournament and casual play alike.
