Mountain

The Summer Magic set, colloquially known as Edgar, was a limited promotional print run of Magic: The Gathering cards released in 1994. Produced by Cartamundi in Belgium, the set was intended to address international distribution needs and served as a test for higher-quality card stock and printing techniques. It remains distinct from the core Revised Edition due to its notably vibrant, saturated color palette and a slightly glossy finish that differs from standard releases of the era.

The Mountain card features artwork inherited from the original Magic: The Gathering base sets, reflecting the quintessential aesthetic of early fantasy illustration. The design was intended to establish the visual language of the game’s five basic lands, prioritizing functional clarity and atmospheric world-building. While the artwork itself was created by a collective of artists commissioned during the game's inception, the Summer Magic printing is prized by collectors for its technical rarity and the unique, intensified color profiles introduced during the Belgian production process.
