Healing Salve

Healing Salve was originally introduced in the Alpha set of Magic: The Gathering in 1993 as part of the initial cycle of white spells. It was designed as a versatile, low-cost defensive instant, intended to provide players with a choice between gaining life or preventing damage. Its inclusion in Fifth Edition, released in 1997, marked its continued presence in the core set, maintaining its status as a staple common card that helped define the basic mechanics of early white-aligned decks.

The artwork for this version was provided by Zina Saunders. Her depiction features a more ethereal and illustrative style compared to earlier iterations, emphasizing the restorative and mystical nature of the spell.
