Where it came from
Valorous Stance was originally introduced to the Magic: The Gathering card game in the Fate Reforged expansion of 2015. It was designed as a flexible white spell that allows players to either protect a creature from destruction or eliminate a large threat from the battlefield, reflecting the duality of martial prowess. This specific printing from the Jumpstart 2022 set features updated art, continuing the game's tradition of reissuing popular utility spells to support the themed, pick-up-and-play nature of the Jumpstart product line.
The artwork for this version was commissioned to emphasize the themes of courage and tactical decision-making inherent in the card's mechanics. Like many cards in the Jumpstart 2022 set, this printing was intended to provide accessible gameplay options for both newer players and veterans. It has been well-regarded by the community as an efficient and versatile tool for constructed formats, maintaining its relevance in the game's ecosystem through its simple yet effective design philosophy.
