Provenance

Where it came from

Valorous Stance was originally released in the Fate Reforged set of Magic: The Gathering in 2015, drawing inspiration from the heroic and tactical themes of the Tarkir plane. It was designed as a modal spell, offering players the strategic flexibility to either destroy a large creature or grant indestructible status to a smaller one, reflecting the duality of martial prowess and divine intervention.

The version from Innistrad Remastered serves as a reprint, recontextualizing the card within the gothic horror setting of Innistrad. The artwork and design language maintain the core mechanics while aligning with the aesthetic of a set curated to celebrate the darker, thematic elements of the Innistrad block, emphasizing the struggle between faith and supernatural threats.
