Where it came from
Valorous Stance was first released in the 2015 set Fate Reforged and later reprinted in Commander Legends as card number 390. Designed for Magic: The Gathering, the card represents a modal spell, offering players the choice to either destroy a high-toughness creature or grant indestructible status to their own, reflecting the card's theme of tactical flexibility during combat.
The artwork for the original printing was created by Johannes Voss. His illustration depicts a moment of decisive martial action, aiming to capture the essence of a hero standing firm against overwhelming odds. The design is widely regarded by players as a staple utility card in white-aligned decks due to its versatility in responding to both offensive and defensive board states.
