Where it came from
Valorous Stance was included in the Jumpstart 2022 set, a product designed to facilitate quick, accessible gameplay without the need for traditional deck construction. The set features themed packets that players combine to create a functional deck, and this card serves as a versatile utility piece within the white color identity, offering players a choice between saving a creature or destroying a significant threat.
The illustration for this specific printing was created by artist Igor Kieryluk. Known for his dynamic style in the fantasy genre, Kieryluk focused on capturing a moment of decisive action, emphasizing the dramatic tension inherent in the card's function as a high-impact, reactive spell. Within the broader Magic: The Gathering community, the card is recognized for its historical flexibility, having been a staple in Standard formats since its initial debut in the Fate Reforged set.
