Elephant

The Elephant token, numbered 10 in the Commander Anthology set, was released by Wizards of the Coast in 2017. It was designed to support various green-aligned spells and abilities within the Commander format that create 3/3 Elephant creature tokens, most notably the card Elephant Resurgence. This token was part of a larger initiative to provide players with official, cohesive physical representations of the auxiliary assets generated during gameplay.

The artwork for this series was developed under the direction of the Magic: The Gathering creative team to maintain a consistent visual language across the product line. By providing standardized tokens for the Commander Anthology collection, the design team aimed to reduce table clutter and improve player clarity during complex board states. The token was received as a functional necessity, appreciated by players for its utility and the clean, distinct aesthetic characteristic of the modern era of the game.
