Elephant

The Elephant token, numbered 10 in the Duel Decks Anthology: Garruk vs. Liliana set, was released by Wizards of the Coast in 2014. This collection was a commemorative box set that reissued the first four iterations of the Duel Decks series—Elves vs. Goblins, Jace vs. Chandra, Divine vs. Demonic, and Garruk vs. Liliana—in a single, unified package. These tokens were included to support the gameplay mechanics of the Garruk vs. Liliana deck, specifically serving as a tangible representation of creatures brought into play by specific spells within that deck.

The illustration for this Elephant token reflects the classic aesthetic established during the original release of the Garruk vs. Liliana deck in 2009. The design process for these tokens prioritized utility and thematic consistency within the Magic: The Gathering ecosystem, ensuring that players could clearly distinguish between card types during fast-paced duels. While the token art is not attributed to a single iconic illustrator in the same manner as legendary creatures, it remains a recognized component of the anthology's effort to preserve the visual identity of the game's early competitive deck series.
