Elephant

The Elephant token, numbered 9 in the Midnight Hunt Commander series, was released in September 2021 as part of the Innistrad: Midnight Hunt expansion for Magic: The Gathering. These tokens were produced to represent the specific creature types created by various spells and abilities within the set, providing players with a physical marker to track board states during gameplay. In the context of the Midnight Hunt Commander decks, these tokens were designed to complement the gothic horror themes and mechanics prevalent throughout the expansion.

The visual design of this token features the signature aesthetic of the Innistrad plane, characterized by muted, atmospheric tones and a dark, rustic sensibility. While Wizards of the Coast maintains a rotating roster of artists for their token series, the pieces are carefully curated to align with the overarching art direction of the set. Upon its release, the token was well-received by the player base for its utility in gameplay and for maintaining the cohesive, immersive visual identity that has become a hallmark of modern Magic: The Gathering sets.
