Where it came from
The Elephant token was released as part of the Conspiracy: Take the Crown set in 2016, designed by Wizards of the Coast for their Magic: The Gathering card game. These tokens serve as physical representations of creatures created by game spells or abilities, providing a functional visual aid during gameplay. The card features artwork by artist Jason Felix, who utilized a bold, illustrative style to capture the imposing nature of the creature, fitting the aesthetic established for the set’s supplementary token collection.
This specific token is utilized primarily by cards within the Conspiracy expansion that generate 3/3 Elephant creature tokens. The design focus was to provide a clear, distinct visual identifier that stands out on a busy board state. Upon its release, it was well-received by players for its thematic consistency with the set's unique drafting mechanics and its high-quality art, which standardizes the experience for players who do not wish to use makeshift markers.
