Saproling

The Saproling token, marked as collector number 11 in the Modern Masters 2015 set, was created by Wizards of the Coast to represent a creature type central to Magic: The Gathering's green-aligned graveyard and sacrifice strategies. These tokens serve as indispensable play aids for cards that create Saproling creatures, such as Mycoloth or Sprout Swarm, which were staple elements within the limited environment of the 2015 set.

The design for this specific token reflects the aesthetic direction of the Modern Masters series, which often utilizes updated or distinct artwork to differentiate these supplementary releases from standard expansion sets. While the artist for this specific iteration provides a stylized interpretation of the fungal creature, the token is primarily appreciated by players for its utility and the clear, functional visual language that ensures board state clarity during high-stakes competitive play.
