Mountain

The Mountain card, numbered 202, originates from the Doctor Who Customizable Card Game (CCG) produced by Precedence Entertainment. Launched in the late 1990s, the game aimed to capture the expansive lore of the long-running British sci-fi series, allowing players to build decks representing the Doctor, companions, and various adversaries. This card reflects the game's broader mechanical attempt to translate the show's diverse extraterrestrial environments and narrative settings into a tabletop format.

The design of the card follows the aesthetic conventions of the late 1990s CCG boom, utilizing high-contrast layouts typical of Precedence Entertainment's production style. While the specific illustrator is often credited within the card's microscopic print, the imagery is intended to evoke the rugged, often otherworldly landscapes encountered by the Doctor on various alien worlds. The game and its components, including this card, were primarily received by a niche audience of dedicated Doctor Who enthusiasts and collectible card game players, serving as a period-specific artifact of the franchise's multimedia expansion during the show's television hiatus.
