Provenance

Where it came from

The Mountain card from The Brothers' War Commander set, released in 2022, serves as a basic land card within a deck themed around the franchise's iconic conflict between Urza and Mishra. This set was designed to explore the lore of the Antiquities expansion, focusing on the mechanical and magical warfare of early Dominarian history. The design direction for these lands emphasizes the industrial aesthetic of the set, featuring weathered landscapes that reflect the devastation caused by the two warring brothers.

The artwork for this specific Mountain was produced as part of the broader artistic vision for the Magic: The Gathering Commander product line, which seeks to blend functional gameplay with immersive storytelling. While basic lands are ubiquitous in the game, the cards from this particular release are noted for their thematic consistency with the steampunk-inspired art direction of The Brothers' War. It remains a standard inclusion for players looking to maintain a cohesive visual identity within their artifact-heavy decks.
