Provenance

Where it came from

The League Tokens 2013 set emerged during a period of experimentation within the collectible card community, intended to merge traditional gaming aesthetics with a minimalist, high-contrast design language. Produced as a limited run of artistic tokens rather than game-playable cards, the series focused on ornithological and heraldic motifs to appeal to hobbyists interested in desktop gaming accessories and artisanal tokens.

The Bird token, numbered 02 in this sequence, was rendered with an emphasis on clean lines and a monochromatic palette to ensure readability during fast-paced play. The design sought to elevate the utility token from a mere plastic or cardboard marker to a curated aesthetic object, reflecting the broader 2013 trend of custom-designed accessories for tabletop games.
