Bird

The Bird token was released in 2022 as part of the Dominaria United set for Magic: The Gathering. These tokens were produced to represent ephemeral creatures created during gameplay, specifically manifesting through cards like 'Protect the Negotiators' or various spell effects that call a 1/1 flying bird into play. As a standard token card, it was distributed within set booster packs, serving a functional role in card games by providing a physical visual aid for players to track their battlefield state.

The visual design features digital artwork by artist Ovidio Cartagena, who utilized a vibrant, high-fantasy aesthetic consistent with the Dominaria setting. The illustration focuses on the creature's avian features and mobility, emphasizing the flying keyword. Like many token designs in the modern era of the game, the piece was crafted to be easily recognizable at a distance while maintaining the high artistic standards expected of the franchise's collectible supplemental materials.
