Mountain

The Mountain card from the Pro Tour Collector Set, bearing the collector number mj374, was released in the late 1990s as part of a specialized promotional effort by Wizards of the Coast. These sets were designed to commemorate specific high-level Magic: The Gathering tournaments, providing players with fixed, non-randomized collections that mirrored the decks used by professional players during the events. This approach was intended to offer fans a rare glimpse into the competitive meta-game and reward enthusiasts with high-quality, curated versions of staple cards.

The design of the Pro Tour Collector Set cards generally adheres to the classic aesthetic of the game's early years, often featuring the distinct, evocative artwork that defined the base sets of that era. By packaging these cards in a boxed format rather than traditional blind booster packs, the company shifted the focus from the thrill of the gamble to the preservation of tournament history. These sets are now held in high regard by collectors for their historical significance and the unique identifiers, such as the mj374 coding, that distinguish them from the standard trade editions of the period.
