Provenance

Where it came from

The Plains card, numbered 670, was released as part of the 'Secret Lair' series by Wizards of the Coast. This specific print was featured in the 'Secret Lair x Street Fighter' drop, which emerged from a collaboration between Magic: The Gathering and Capcom. The set was designed to celebrate the legacy of the fighting game franchise by reimagining iconic characters and themes within the mechanical framework of Magic.

The card features artwork by various illustrators contracted for the Secret Lair series, intended to blend the distinct aesthetic of 1990s arcade fighters with the high-fantasy landscape of Magic: The Gathering. Upon its release, the drop was received by collectors as a niche aesthetic novelty, appealing primarily to those who value the intersection of gaming history and the collectible trading card market.
