Where it came from
Reliquary Tower was originally introduced in the 2008 set Conflux, designed to provide a utility land that removes the hand-size limit for players. It became a staple in the Commander format, where card draw and hand management are central to many strategies. The card’s design serves as a functional tool for decks that generate significant card advantage, offering a simple yet powerful passive ability that has remained relevant across years of evolving gameplay.
This specific iteration featuring collector number 3 was released as a promotional card for the 2023 MagicFest event series. These events were organized to bring the Magic: The Gathering community together for high-level competitive and social play, often featuring exclusive promotional cards with unique artwork. This version of Reliquary Tower utilizes the standardized, clear aesthetic favored for promotional reprints, ensuring the card remains accessible and visually cohesive with modern Magic frame templates.
