Forest

The Forest card, designated as collector number 6, was released as part of the Year of the Snake 2025 commemorative series for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. This specific set was developed by Wizards of the Coast to celebrate the Lunar New Year, a recurring thematic release that integrates East Asian cultural motifs with the game's established fantasy aesthetic. The card serves as a basic land, a foundational element required for gameplay, but is elevated by seasonal artwork tailored to the 2025 zodiac theme.

The design of this series reflects a deliberate fusion of traditional brushwork techniques and modern digital illustration, intended to honor the cultural significance of the snake in the lunar cycle. By commissioning artists who specialize in stylized, narrative-driven fantasy art, the studio sought to create a visually distinct aesthetic that separates these commemorative cards from standard set releases. Upon its introduction, the series was well-received by the player base for its thematic cohesion and the inclusion of region-specific artistic flourishes that provide a unique tactile experience for collectors.
