Forest

The Secret Lair Drop series, introduced by Wizards of the Coast in 2019, represents a shift in Magic: The Gathering toward curated, limited-release collectible cards. These sets often feature unique artistic themes and unconventional visual treatments that diverge from the standard aesthetic of the core game expansions. The Forest card, designated as collector number 109, is part of a specific artistic drop designed to appeal to collectors who prioritize aesthetic variety and high-concept illustration over mechanical rarity.

This particular card is characterized by its distinct visual style, which aligns with the broader Secret Lair goal of celebrating diverse artistic interpretations of iconic game elements. By commissioning established artists to reimagine traditional basic lands, the series provides a canvas for styles that might otherwise feel out of place in the game's established lore. The reception among the player base has been largely positive, with collectors often seeking these cards for their 'pimp' or aesthetic utility in building visually cohesive or thematic deck constructions.
