Forest

The 2019 MagicFest Forest, numbered 6 in the series, was commissioned by Wizards of the Coast for distribution at MagicFest events held throughout 2019. This set of basic lands was designed to serve as a collectible promotional incentive for attendees, featuring a distinct panoramic aesthetic that set them apart from standard set-release lands. The initiative aimed to enhance the event-going experience by providing players with exclusive, functional artwork that celebrated the community aspect of professional-level tabletop gaming.

The artwork for this specific Forest was created by the illustrator Johannes Voss, who utilized his signature ethereal and light-focused style to capture the essence of a serene, magical woodland. By emphasizing soft gradients and a dreamlike quality, Voss sought to evoke a sense of tranquility that contrasted with the often high-intensity competitive environment of MagicFest tournaments. The design was warmly received by the player base, largely because it provided a cohesive, high-quality visual identity for the promotional series, becoming a sought-after staple for players looking to personalize their decks.
