Forest

The Forest card, collector number 2120, was released as part of the 'Secret Lair' product line, a series of curated, limited-run cards for the collectible card game Magic: The Gathering. Launched by Wizards of the Coast, the Secret Lair series is designed to showcase diverse artistic styles and thematic concepts that sit outside the typical visual constraints of the game's standard sets. This specific iteration features a highly stylized, illustrative approach meant to appeal to long-time collectors and those who appreciate the intersection of high fantasy and contemporary art.

The design of this card reflects the ongoing initiative by Wizards of the Coast to partner with various artists to reinterpret classic gameplay elements. By focusing on the 'Forest' basic land, the artists have the opportunity to experiment with atmosphere, color theory, and composition while maintaining the functional clarity required for competitive play. These drops are generally well-regarded within the enthusiast community for their aesthetic departure from the game's main art direction, serving as a premium way for players to customize their decks.
