Forest

The Forest card, appearing as part of the Secret Lair Drop Series, was released by Wizards of the Coast to offer specialized, artist-driven aesthetics for Magic: The Gathering. This specific iteration serves as a stylistic departure from traditional set-based cards, focusing on experimental art direction that allows creators to interpret core game elements through unique lenses. These drops are typically marketed as limited-time direct-to-consumer releases, prioritizing collectibility and the appreciation of distinct visual languages within the game's broader design framework.

The design of this particular Forest aligns with the Secret Lair ethos of highlighting external collaborators or distinct thematic sub-series. By commissioning artists to move beyond the constraints of standard expansion sets, the series aims to provide players with highly stylized versions of fundamental cards. The reception of these releases has generally been polarized between players seeking functional game pieces and collectors valuing the artistic rarity and curated presentation of the drop sets.
