Plains

The Plains card from the M20 Promo Packs series was released in 2019 as part of Wizards of the Coast's initiative to revitalize the store-level play experience for Magic: The Gathering. These packs were distributed to local game stores as rewards for players participating in various events, serving as a promotional vehicle to drive engagement with the Core Set 2020 release. The card features a standard frame updated for the modern era, reflecting the design language intended to make basic lands accessible yet aesthetically consistent with the set's broader visual identity.

The artwork for this specific print utilizes the landscape aesthetic established for the Core Set 2020, emphasizing clear, evocative imagery designed to provide a sense of place within the game's multiverse. Like many promotional basic lands, it was intended to offer players a collectible variant that stood out from those found in standard booster packs. While not a unique mechanical printing, its inclusion in the limited-run promo packs quickly established it as a modest highlight for collectors who prioritize the specific aesthetic continuity of the M20 release.
