Forest

The Forest card, designated as collector number 342, was released in the Commander 2015 set, a series of preconstructed decks published by Wizards of the Coast in November 2015. This specific card was featured in the Plunder the Graves deck, a graveyard-focused build centered on the character Meren of Clan Nel Toth. The set was designed to explore the mechanics and flavor of various guilds and factions within the Magic: The Gathering multiverse, utilizing a dedicated art style that differentiates Commander supplemental products from standard expansion releases.

The illustration for this card was created by artist Titus Lunter, who has contributed extensively to the Magic: The Gathering visual identity. Lunter’s design approach for this landscape focuses on atmospheric depth and the lush, untamed aesthetic consistent with the Jund-inspired thematic elements of the deck. Upon its release, the card was well-received by the player base for its role as a functional, aesthetically cohesive basic land that helped define the visual standard for the 2015 Commander expansion.
