Forest

The Forest card from the Magic: The Gathering Seventh Edition set, released in 2001, serves as a foundational basic land within the game's core set structure. As a tenth-anniversary milestone for the brand, the Seventh Edition was designed to consolidate the game's mechanics and aesthetic, featuring a refreshed card frame that introduced a more modern, cleaner look compared to previous core sets. This specific iteration, bearing the collector number 328★, is notable for its foil treatment, which was a relatively new inclusion for core sets at the time, aimed at enhancing collectibility.

The artwork for this particular Forest was illustrated by Rob Alexander, a prominent artist whose landscapes defined much of the game’s early visual identity. Alexander was tasked with creating a serene, immersive depiction of a woodland environment that would be instantly recognizable to players. His work on this set was well-received for its balanced color palette and traditional fantasy style, which fit seamlessly into the broader Seventh Edition goal of providing a stable, visually cohesive experience for both veteran players and newcomers during the game's shift into the new millennium.
