Provenance

Where it came from

This Island card was released as part of the Commander Anthology Volume II set in 2018. It serves as a foundational basic land, featuring artwork originally commissioned for the Magic: The Gathering ecosystem to provide players with the essential mana sources required for deck construction within the Commander format, which emphasizes social play and legendary creature synergy.

The design of this specific card draws upon the classic aesthetic traditions of Magic: The Gathering, focusing on immersive landscape illustration that conveys the tranquil yet expansive nature of an island biome. Like other inclusions in the Anthology series, it was curated to provide a consistent visual identity for players engaging with the preconstructed decks contained within the box set, reflecting a commitment to atmospheric world-building that has defined the game since its inception.
