Provenance

Where it came from

The Island card (number 848) from the Magic: The Gathering Fallout set was released in 2024 as part of a collaborative expansion between Wizards of the Coast and Bethesda Softworks. This set was designed to integrate the post-apocalyptic lore of the Fallout video game franchise into the mechanics of Magic: The Gathering, utilizing the 'Universes Beyond' branding to bring iconic wasteland locations to the tabletop game.

The artwork for this specific land card draws directly from the visual language of the Fallout series, emphasizing the desolate and rugged aesthetic characteristic of the franchise's world-building. These cards were produced to serve both functional roles in deck construction and as collectibles for fans of the video game, aiming to bridge the gap between two distinct gaming communities through evocative, thematic illustrations.
